OMNi Helps to Raise Over £4,000 for CHAS Charity

OMNi has raised £4,040 for Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) through an online charity prize draw and the generosity of the public. Partnering with local businesses, including Edinburgh Dungeon, Lothian Buses, and Edinburgh Street Food, OMNi invited the public to enter the prize draw for a chance to win an Edinburgh City Experience worth over £1,500.

The initiative was promoted with the help of our very own giraffe sculptures, Martha and Gilbert, who were ‘yarn bombed’ with knitted accessories. Prize Draw winner Lorraine Scott from Aberdeen expressed her delight and happiness that the draw supported local families:

“I was absolutely over the moon when told I’d won the Edinburgh City Experience prize draw. My partner and I are looking forward to sharing the experience with our family. I’m so pleased to hear that the activity raised such a large sum to support local families in need. What a great way to start the New Year!”

Sarah Dannfald, CHAS Senior Community Fundraiser, said:

We’d like to thank OMNi, the local businesses who donated prizes and everyone who took the time to enter the prize draw. The funds raised will contribute to funding our team in providing unwavering care and support for families at home and through respite stays at Rachel House.”

OMNi Centre Manager Martin Botha congratulated the winner and expressed gratitude to everyone involved:

“We were thrilled to onboard some of our wider city business partners for this initiative and we’re thankful to everyone who entered our prize draw and donated. A big congratulations to our wonderful winner, Lorraine!

We loved seeing our visitors, big and small, grabbing a selfie with Martha and Gilbert and sharing their snaps on socials. Our loveable giraffes have now shed their winter knits, and we plan to reuse the yarn a little later this year – watch this space.”
